About Our North Mason Community:
North Mason County is located on the eastern tip of Hood Canal, one hour from urban life in Seattle, the scenic beauty of the Olympic Mountains and Straits of Juan de Fuca. The environment offers dramatic natural settings within the area including the Hood Canal and 24 lakes as well as numerous rivers and streams. Camping, hiking, fishing, golf, cycling, gathering fresh seafood (oysters, clams, crab), swimming, boating and skiing are examples of the splendid opportunities for year round recreation. Mason County is the sixth fastest growing county in the state and includes the communities of Allyn, Belfair, Grapeview, Victor and Tahuya. An actual population count is difficult to establish since Belfair and the surrounding area has an abundance of weekend and summer homes which increases its normal size. The Chamber of Commerce indicates approximately 18,000 year round residents.

Belfair offers banking, shopping, motel, RV parks and professional services. There are over 12 churches, including most major denominations as well as service clubs including Lions, Kiwanis, Eagles, Rotary, North Mason Chamber of Commerce and the North Mason Senior Association. There are two state parks bordering Hood Canal offering hundreds of acres of recreational land, 6000 feet of saltwater tidelands, campsites and picnic areas.
